Why does the entire visit require 2 or more hours in the facility?
Although the actual surgical abortion procedure typically takes only a few minutes, your entire visit may require two hours or more to ensure that all necessary medical evaluations, preparations, and post-procedure care are completed safely and comfortably.
Before the procedure, patients undergo several important steps, which may include registration, reviewing their medical history, pregnancy testing, ultrasound examinations, laboratory tests when indicated, and a consultation with a healthcare professional.
These evaluations help determine the stage of pregnancy, identify potential health concerns, and ensure that the appropriate abortion procedure is selected.
Our medical staff will also explain the procedure, discuss available anesthesia and sedation options, review potential risks, and answer any questions you may have before obtaining informed consent.
