Our regimen provides for completion without the need for surgery 99% of the time. Advanced second trimester and late term pregnancies (17 to 24 weeks or greater) can be completed within 24 hours or less 99% of the time without the need surgery, and the procedure is completed with minimal to no complications.

With the latest advances in medical equipment and surgical instruments, combined with specialized technical training, a surgical procedure can now be performed as early as 3 to 4 weeks into a pregnancy. This means the surgical procedure can be performed before the first menstrual period is missed. Some patients prefer the surgical abortion process because the procedure is immediately completed at the time of the first visit. For those patients we are able to offer Advanced IV Sedation. Advanced IV Sedation consists of a sleep inducing injection which produces a safe, 3 minute, painless procedure. Patients are nearly fully awake and able to engage in conversation within only a few minutes, and in less than an hour they may be discharged from recovery and able to drive themselves home without any residual effects from the sedation medications.

Patients who receive Advanced IV Sedation do not have to stop eating at midnight before the day of their procedure. Current medical studies now indicate that there are fewer complications associated with eating and drinking up to 4 hours before surgery, and patients are able to drink clear liquids up to 2 hours before surgery. Allowing patients to drink up to two hours before surgery reduces anxiety and less stress on the day of surgery. Side effects and complications associated with dehydration, and abnormal blood sugars are nearly non-existent. Advanced IV Sedation medications produce a rapid onset of sleepiness and a reduction in anxiety, nervousness and irritability. Our advanced technology medications work similarly to less modern narcotics, but with far fewer risks and unpleasant side effects. Within 3 to 10 minutes after administration there are no residual effects from this advanced sedation because it does not remain in the body.
