ADVANCED IV SEDATION TECHNIQUE With our Advanced IV Sedation Technology patients do not have to stop eating at midnight before the day of their procedure. Many studies indicate that there are fewer complications with eating and drinking up to 4 hours before surgery, and patients are able to drink clear liquids up to 2 hours before surgery. It has been shown that there are more fluids in the stomach when patients stop eating or drinking at midnight than if they stop drinking two hours before surgery. Patients who are allowed to drink up until two hours before surgery experience less anxiety and stress on the day of surgery and the side effects and complications associated with dehydration, and abnormal blood sugars (low or high) are nearly non-existent. In addition to reducing discomfort during a surgical abortion procedure, our IV Sedation medications allow a rapid onset of sleepiness and a significant reduction in the anxiety, nervousness and irritability which can occur prior, during or after surgery. This has been studied and reported on extensively in medical literature and is now accepted by anesthesiologists. Our advanced technology medications work similarly to less modern narcotics, but with fewer risks and unpleasant side effects. RAPID RECOVERY TIME Within 3 to 10 minutes after administration there is no longer a residual effect from this advanced sedation because it does not linger in the body.
